VISA Application

To get your visa, you need to go to a Korean Consulate located in the U.S. (there is one in Hawaii)

What you need to bring:

I recommend getting your information directly from the Korean Visa Website (link above), but these are all the items I had to bring.

  • Visa Application Form

  • Passport (+photocopy)

  • Passport Photo

  • Hawaiʻi State ID (+photocopy)

  • Certificate of Admission (given from the school)

  • Business Registration Certificate (given from the school)

  • Bank Statement / Proof of Financial Support

  • SEALED Official Transcript (VERY IMPORTANT, MUST BE ORDERED FROM UHM AND MAILED, printed e-Copy not allowed, Order Link)

  • Birth Certificate (+photocopy)

  • Recommendation Letter from UH for exchange students (you are able to get one from MIX)

  • Visa Fee - $45

Tips n Tricks

  • Order your transcript early, takes around 2-3 weeks for it to arrive

  • The VISA processing is EXACTLY 3 weeks, so plan your flights accordingly

  • The process was only around 10-15 minutes so feel free to ask questions. Being friendly can make the interaction more enjoyable for everyone and help the process move smoother.
